    I’m a psychologist as well, and I fully agree with your analysis. Being a victim is consistently part of her narrative. I would say that being a savior is also part of her view. (Ex. “I took care of him…” “I loved Gannon.” Etc.) and her attempts at staff splitting, ( Ex. “I will for you but not for her”) are very clear. She definitely overestimated her ability to manipulate the circumstances and gaslight those around her. The one thing I question is whether she killed Gannon to be a victim. I counter that she actually did this because saw herself as a victim and saw Gannon as a key element to her being a victim. She was having to take care of him, even with his ADHD and other health issues (tummy issues and, as she consistently pointed out, his accidents,) and her husband wasn’t giving her enough attention. Her attack of Gannon was rage-filled and brutal. I think she was taking her “always the victim” feelings out on him when she did this. I believe that she is very calculated and truly believes that people will fall for her words and stories in all of this. Likely they have fallen for her stories to some degree for many years.
    I’m certainly not diagnosing, but I agree with your well-done analysis.

    • @drgexplains
      @drgexplains  2 года назад +53

      I think you are spot on that for many years people likely had fallen for her lies. I'm sure her manipulations often got her what she wanted or got her out of trouble. That led her thinking this situation would have the same outcome.

    • @KellyCeleste
      @KellyCeleste 2 года назад +43

      @@drgexplains My guess is that she wore people down enough for them to concede, and she interpreted it as though they believed her. Over time, she filtered out the ones who didn’t allow her to do this and ended up surrounding herself with those who would tolerate her manipulations.
      This horrific event brought a whole new level of individuals into her life, and they weren’t playing. She was used to her husband falling for her lies, but when his son’s safety and whereabouts were involved, he also wasn’t playing; that was his line. He had “private conversations” with her and was secretly working with law enforcement; many of those calls were recorded and played in court for everyone to hear. Interestingly, her body language has been markedly different when they’ve played those phone calls or when someone who “duped” her has testified than it was when they showed pictures of the crime scene and (horrifyingly) the autopsy photos.
      I do think that the attention Letecia receives plays a role in what happened to Gannon. I just think that there was more involved. She wanted Al’s attention…his FULL attention, and when they ended up having his kids live with them full-time, it really impacted her lifestyle. Her daughter testified that Letecia did not like it when Al was not home and Letecia was left with the kids. Al had gone away for a few days to attend to his military obligations. Letecia said that Gannon cut his foot and that he had knocked over a candle which caught fire to his covers or the carpet(it depends on the moment she is asked about this.) She also mentioned that she notified Al of these incidents and that he didn’t come home, which she had expected him to do. There was an element of frustration in her voice when she said this even though her words were “but that’s okay.” I don’t believe it was okay with Letecia.
      My best guess is that Letecia was angry that Al didn’t return home, and found herself (more often than she could tolerate) at home raising his kids and not getting the accolades that she believed that’s she deserved. She had a significant problem with their biological mother, likely for a lot of reasons (having to have the kids full time, the kids still talking nicely about and loving their mother, and her history with Al,) and her whole life had turned into something she never wanted it to be. (She reportedly wanted to be like Kim Kardashian.)
      I think, when Al didn’t return home, Letecia was furious. And when Gannon, who reportedly had ADHD and some digestive issues, upset her, she targeted him with all of the rage she felt for the disruption in her life because of the kids. She targeted him for taking some of Al’s attention, for Al not returning home when she wanted him to, for having to take care of his kids while her husband was off doing God knows what (military service…but she likely thought he was cheating or out having a great time without her,) and for every single thing that she viewed as unfair in her life. It’s absolutely sickening to think about, but the entitlement and self centered nature of her are overwhelming.
      I’m guessing that Letecia thought that when Al returned home and his son was missing, he would turn to her for support…but he didn’t. Next thing she knew, Gannon’s biological mother was in town, staying in Letecia’s house, and appearing on the news, sometimes with Al.
      Letecia has told many stories, each of which frames her as the victim. However, none of these brought Al to her side to protect her. He was completely focused on finding his son. She has never told, and likely will never tell, the full story of what happened over those horrific days. Her focus now is framing herself as having been legally insane when this occurred so that she can be confined to a mental health facility rather than prison. In Colorado, anyone found legally insane at the time of a crime can be released once they are deemed to be stable again. My best guess is that this is her plan…her manipulations did not end with Al, Gannon, or the detectives. It prevails to this day, and likely will for the rest of her life, be it behind the bars or in front of them.
      Sorry for my long-winded comment. This case is incredibly sad, and the lack of integrity in each one of her (likely hundreds of) stories is incomprehensible to anyone with an empathetic bone in their body.
      I shared your video with the creator of a channel that is following this trial, and the creator said that she reached out to you. It’s my understanding that you will be joining the group during the lunch break at some point next week. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts and insight at that time. Great analysis! The more times I watch her speak freely, in the news interview and other clips, the more glaring her Narcissism becomes - you really highlighted the "victimhood" she cloaks herself in, and when you mentioned Munchausen By Proxy, it really made the picture clear. She is loving this attention, and she has made it known so often how underappreciated she has always felt taking care of Gannon. Her Google search results said something like, "How to find a man who doesn't have kids!" I bet she pictured this glorious life without Gannon in which her husband believed her stories and they lived happily ever after.

    My parent has a personality disorder. It's such a baffling thing to understand, it really is! They can never take responsibility for anything and my parent does the same thing as LS where if I'm questioning her delusional stories, she gets louder and angry. In the phone calls with Albert and Ls the more he showed his disbelief the louder she got... Such a bully.
    The candle incident with Gannon reminds me potentially of the coat hanger scene in "mommy dearest" ... The explosive rage that might have been present in the last moments of Gannon's life 💜
    It was also interesting when Albert asked her to imagine their life without Gannon and what it would be like and she mumbled that they could travel around and help other families find their loved ones, they could start charities etc while they wait to find Gannon...
    I'm still processing this because to me this shows how delusional and superficial she is. She wants their life to go on without Gannon as if nothing ever happened, and for her husband to stand by her side, and for her to control the narrative of their relationship, and everything will just be perfect again.
    This is why when someone has a personality disorder they can never grasp objectively the full picture which sort of renders them less intelligent in some ways even if they can manage a 4.0 grade point average in school.

      LS is absolutely trash! She was arrested in South Carolina before she ever met Al for grand theft auto, domestic violence and having several different aliases. No one would bond her out, and the Judge eventually released her on time served. I read this on google. I will never understand what Al saw in her. She also told her daughter that her dad was murdered but that was a lie because Chance Hunt died from a drug overdose as Harley testified in court.

    The video she took of her and Gannon the night before the murder is chilling and heartbreaking, but also so revealing. Chances are pretty likely that she was abusing Gannon behind everyone’s back, and maybe the abuse escalated that afternoon, or she coldly murdered him so he couldn’t tell his Dad about the abuse... something about this case feels darker than the already horrendous murder. I totally agree that “victim” is Letecia’s default, but man, you can kill your child for sympathy without stabbing them 18 times, cracking their skull and then shooting them. Something dangerously sinister is lurking within Letecia.
    But either way, Letecia is totally calculating and aware of what rules she needs to skirt around. I hope the MMPI-2 reveals her like a vivisection.

    At first I thought she snapped but hearing what you just said actually makes better sense because it would better suite what seems to be be her narcissistic personality traits. She has had a pattern of getting away with her lies through intimidation and control and when she doesn’t she usually just leaves town. She’s never had to actually deal with any of the lies she’s told or their consequences in any meaningful way except to use them to pretend to be a victim. She also tend to lie for small things in extreme ways such as saying her stepfather died to get a day of work to look after Gannon. Most people would just tell the truth apologise and say look my son is sick I need to take the day off to look after him. She had to kill off off an already dead family member. It will be interesting to see what the prosecution’s psychiatrist comes back with but I would have I bet she has histrionic tendencies, narcissistic and borderline, possibly antisocial. I don’t know if it will be all of those but definitely from the phone calls and the lying histrionic. I mean like you said she lies like she’s breathing. And it’s definitely possible she killed Gannon not long after the trip back because she was just over looking after him and wanted to be loved in the neighbourhood as the woman who lost a child because she’s so special. I mean she definitely talked about him as he was a separate entity from the rest of the family if you can stand listening to her hours of phone calls to Al. There’s another 6 hour’s coming on Monday. I can hardly wait. The poor jury at least I can listen on faster speed or take a break. They need more money.

    Being a victim as a central part of her personality was really evident listening to her daughter’s testimony of the past, describing long standing similar behavior in her life, including specifically the lies that her father was killed during an armed robbery, that she had ovarian cancer and that she was suicidal. Similarly, there is the testimony of her husband that she manipulated leaving Alaska by claiming to be a victim of sexual harassment by someone he worked with. It is definitely woven through every story and portrayal of herself.

    Yes, she demanded that her face not be shown during the interview or she wouldn’t do it (the reporter testified during her court case and explains the demands she made in exchange for the interview which happened as she was leaving the home where she had murdered Gannon (at her husband Al’s request). She would later that evening leave the hotel and retrieve Gannon’s body stuffed in the suitcase (not briefcase!) and store it in the back of the moving van that she and her 17 year old daughter (who was completely unaware of the her mother’s crime) were driving for days in before dumping the suitcase over a Florida bridge, missing the water and was found weeks later by a bridge infrastructure crew. She’s a nasty piece of work for sure.

      @@beccagee5905 you are correct in what her brother reported, but the time it happened wasn’t while they were moving out of Al’s house (in fact we later learned the police were checking *everything* they were removing from the house and even keeping electronic items, so it is too bad she didnt get busted right then and there, as horrific as it would have been for Gannon’s body to be discovered in front of his family). But Lietecia had already moved the suitcase/body to some wooded area well before this, after (apparently) storing it in her car the first night (at least) in the garage (imagine if the police had done an exhaustive search, they’d have found it!) tho she did pull in and keep her hatch close to the closed door so no one could easily open it) and then later leaving her car w/ Suitcase & body at the airport short term parking while she switched to a rental to pick up Al (tho she lied and said it was at her school). When Lieticia’s relatives came and moved them out of the house, I had just assumed she had planned to go back to Myrtle Beach with her relatives, but this was never the case. She and Harley did stay at the hotel that night with her family; her aunt and Grandma in one room and Harley, LIEtecia’s brother and LIEtecia’s in another. At some point Letecia said she needed to go get dog food and went *by herself* and was gone for a significantly longer period that simply buying dog food would require. This, of course, was to retrieve Gannon’s body in the suitcase and somehow got it on the van without anyone knowing. Her aunt had apparently rented the moving van, but when she became aware of LIEtecia’s plans to drive to an as yet undetermined new town, she balked at her name being on the van (and responsible for any damages) so they actually had to rent a *second* van early the next morning and transfer all the items to the new van! I ca just imagine LIEtecia’s anger at this, LOL! And.*this* is when her brother saw the suitcase and LIEtecia refused his help moving it into the new van despite it being extremely heavy. It would have been frozen having spent several days outside in the January weather and thus wouldn’t smell at this point. I don’t know how long it would take to thaw and start producing odors or especially seepage (and sincere apologies for being morbid) but I’m sure she was monitoring it like a hawk (and later threw it over the bridge the moment she noticed any odor) to ensure Harley wouldn’t detect anything. I’m sure the poor little dogs detected it far sooner but Harley testified Lietecia was giving them “CBD” treats which I had to look up - it actually contains cannabanoids! Puppy Pot Treats! :-) Heck, I’d need to be stoned to endure having to spend any time around LIEtecia, and I don’t even partake! :-)

    I think she did it because she snapped after getting upset with him about something, she hurt him in a way that it couldn't be covered up and it couldn't be kept secret from Dad this time, and then was terrified about what people would think about it, especially again it's biological mom who she's soooo worried about being a better parent than . I think she kept him out of school because she knew this time she went too far, punishing him and eventually killed him because this time she went too far. She was also terrified he would text his mother or father and tell what she did. She states in her trial many times, everybody's going to be mad at me and my husband's going to be mad at me, I don't abuse children I don't hurt children. She snapped on him did something She knew the boy's father would find out about and couldn't have her poor little reputation at stake since she's more worried about what people think about her than literally anything else in life.
    She also couldn't understand why so many people were around and looking for Gannon

      I agree.. I wonder if her rage all started from Gannon pooping his pants the day before and then the night, he started the fire by accident. I think she hated him and these events were HER breaking point

      I said the father was pretty well aware of the abuse going on. The last thing he said to his son was "no matter what happens I love you", And why didn't the little boy tell dad what was going on? There's something terribly missing here in that relationship. Dad is not innocent

      @@texasrefugee7888 I agree, no way, no way, no way he didn't know what was going on. She can't open her mouth without lying and I'm sure he's caught her in billions of lies .. and I'm sure when they argued, she'd say so much bad stuff about Gannon, blame him for everything... Al was addicted to sex with her and overlooked so much because of this... He freaking KNEW he was was leaving him with a monster.... Plus, I've never seen him cry in any of the news broadcasts with Landon.. he is definitely to blame, so is Landon, she knew T-Bag was a POS... EVERYONE let him down 🤬

      I agree, I think she was the one who burnt him, none of this candle bs she was trying to spin. She knew she couldn't cover that up or that Gannon would tell Al once he got back home. She knew her marriage would have been over and at that point she figured it would be easier to kill him and lie about it, she was so use to manipulating people that she thought she could get away with it. I do think there was a lot of complicated family dynamics going on, Al was always away and she was the one taking care of children that weren't her's, she hated Landon for that also. IMO she was jealous that Gannon gave Landon more attention than her even though he was in her care more than his mother's, that added to the hatred she had towards him on top of him being a physical reminder of Al's past relationship.

    Great job Dr. G. Letecia looks so much like the woman my Dad married after my Mom died. It's very hard to look at her because their personalities were very similar:(

    What speaks volumes to me is the premeditation of all this. She googled I don’t like my stepson among other things considered to be ways of homicide but a month or two before this happened she dropped clothes off to a woman in the neighborhood whom she had never met. Neighbor said it was awkward because leticia acted like they were friends but we’re clearly strangers but she told this lady she had two daughters!!! She never mentioned Gannon 😢 she knew what she wanted to do and thank God she’s not near as smart as she THINKS she is!!!
